Soar Into Bird Photography: 4 Essential Tips for Beginning Bird Photographers

Tip #1 – Go out early or late in the day. Skip midday shooting or photograph something else while you wait.

Tip #2 – Getting close isn’t everything. Make use of the environment to tell stories about your bird subjects.

Tip #3 – Stop taking photos of birds on the ground or the water at a standing level. 

Eye level or lower with the bird or birds is the best camera position.

Tip #4 – Great bird photography doesn’t happen by chance. Change your mindset from reactive to proactive.
